Pulse of Europe project receives Green Leaf award for contribution to the environment
The project Pulse of Europe - Media Trips to EU won the "Green Leaf" award for media content that promotes examples of good practice in the field of environmental protection.
The award was given as part of the campaign "We are looking for the polluter of the year and the protector of the year", the oldest and best-known environmental campaign in Serbia, which has been jointly organised by Radio Belgrade 2 and Vojvodina Environmental Movement for 16 years already. The aim of the action is improving, protecting and preserving the environment by rewarding individuals and organisations that care the most or, on the other hand, pollute the environment the most.
On behalf of the project, the team leader Marina Rakić received the "Green Leaf" recognition for the project’ contribution to raising awareness about the environment at a ceremony held at the Radulovački Ecological Center in Sremski Karlovci on 30 May. The award was presented by Ranko Stojilović, editor-in-chief of Radio Belgrade 2.
This year, ten Green Leaves, one Black Leaf, as well as two special Green Leaf awards were awarded for decades of dedication to the protection of nature and the environment. Special awards were presented by Vladimir Valdes García, head of the Department for Democratisation of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
Individuals, organisations and institutions from all over Serbia participated in the action as proponents. After all the submitted proposals, the jury decided on the winners of this year's awards.
The winners of the "Green Leaf" award are:
The ecological movement "Okvir života" from Belgrade, the "Puls of Europe" project, the association "Red badges" from Smederevo, the teacher of the school in Krepoljin Mikica Petrović, the informal group "Zrenjanin high school students", the informal group "Neighbors for neighbors" from Bečej, the doctor Petar Červenjak from Bačka Topola, the association "Rangers of Eastern Serbia", the citizens' association "Team 42" from Leskovac and eco-activist Zorica Luić.
